Beginner's Courses

Two or three times a year, Silver Spoon Bowmen run beginner's courses in archery. The courses are run to GNAS guidelines, by GNAS qualified coaches and are held at either the British Sugar Sports & Social Club or the Gleed Girls School.

Before each beginner's course, we usually run a 'Have a Go' session. This lasts about 2 hours and gives prospective archers an opportunity to try archery in a safe environment, before deciding whether or not to commit to the full beginner's course.

The full beginner's course comprises 6 sessions, each approx. 2 hours in duration, All equipment is provided.

The next 'Have a Go' sessions and beginner's courses are currently being organised. If you would like to try archery, please contact:

What do you know about the

Olympic Sport of Archery

How did our GB Archers start their journey to become Elite Performers?

Would you like to find out?

Silver Spoon Bowmen are putting on two events to promote Archery for the 50 plus age group
to let you experience what may have been their first day in the Sport.

You will all be allocated a Coach and taught to shoot the Bow
all equipment will be supplied for the event
all you need to do is turn up and we will do the rest.

There will be Archers of all ages at the venue shooting at various distances,
including the distances our GB Archers will be shooting at when they compete at the Lords Cricket Ground in 2012

The event will take place on the evenings of the 19th July and the 23rd August commencing at 6.30pm until 9.00pm

We would advise that you come prepared for a cool evening and dress in light thin warm clothing,
bulky clothing will impede your performance.
